“The appeal will be filed by the defense unequivocally, because we are not satisfied with the sentence that was passed,” said the lawyer.
Mr Baidik reminded that Yanukovych’s defense has 30 days to file an appeal.
Earlier it became known that Obolonsky district court of Kiev in absentia sentenced Yanukovych to punishment in the form of 13 years in prison.
According to the judges, the guilt of the ex-president in the case of treason has been fully proven. At the same time, the court acquitted Yanukovych under the article on an attempt to change the borders of Ukraine.
