Hundreds of people gathered Sunday in Eaubonne, Val d'Oise, two weeks after the suicide of a teacher.

Concerned by the complaint of a mother who accused her of violence on her son, Jean Willot, a 57-year-old teacher, committed suicide two weeks ago in Eaubonne, in the Val d'Oise. The investigation revealed that the violence was minimal. But the teacher could not have been so blamed. On Sunday, at Eaubonne, where he was teaching, many of them came to pay homage to him.

"An exceptional man". A banner, three words: "never again". Hundreds of people wearing the same slogans on a white t-shirt have thus marched through the streets of this city of 25,000 inhabitants. Family, friends, colleagues but also many alumni, like Aline, 18, who is struggling to hide her emotion. "He was very friendly, always there for the students, we never had any problem, when we are small, in CP, that's where we learn about life, and he taught us about it," he says. she told Europe 1, between sobs in her voice. "He was a great man, exceptional, very strong today, that's why I am moved," she continues.

"It can happen in any school." In the crowd were teachers from all over the department. Eric, surrounded by a dozen colleagues, came to express his weariness. "It can happen in any school, there are stories for details, a scratch on a face, parents who have been accusing us of soft violence for three years, everything is questioned by most parents", he laments, expressing his "saturation". This distress is also central to the message delivered by the Willot family this afternoon. "Let Jean's death serve at least to change things," his brother Benoit repeated several times.
