In his video shot in December and broadcast on social networks, L214 showed yet plucked quail, piled on top of each other in small cages.

The administrative inquiry, opened after the diffusion of a video of the association L214 denouncing the conditions of production of quail eggs in a farm of the Drôme, ruled out any dysfunction or abuse in the exploitation concerned.

"A postcard to live". "The inspection carried out by the sworn agents of the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations (DDPP) concludes that animal breeding conditions are in line with expectations and do not correspond to the images broadcast", assured the prefecture in a statement .

In his video shot in December and posted on social media, L214 showed quails floundering, piled one on top of another in small cages with very dirty screens and exposed to artificial lighting for long hours. "Each quail has only the surface of a postcard to live", resulting in aggressive behavior and causes injuries, deformations of the legs, skin diseases and even death, commented in particular the association which militates for the protection of the animals, the abolition of meat consumption and any use of animal substance.

The target company salutes the results of the investigation. After the broadcast of this video, the prefect of Drôme seized the DDPP which concluded that "no health risk regarding the consumption of eggs and meat produced in this breeding was found" during the investigation.

The company targeted by L214 welcomed in a statement that the DDPP "not only did not reveal anomalies, but noted satisfactory breeding conditions". "Our daily struggle is to save this company, anchored in the territory for 50 years, which employs 37 employees, and to continue its transformation, and we count on the maintenance of the trust of our customers and consumers" she added.
