A lion cub illegally detained in an apartment in Valenton (Val-de-Marne) was found Tuesday night and its owner arrested, according to a source familiar with the case.

The lion cub, a female of a month and a half, was found on a child's bed, at the neighbors' building of its owner. The latter, 30 years old and well known to the police, was hidden in a closet.

The police discovered the existence of the animal through videos that circulated on social networks. A man from Essonne was "suggesting that he had a cub for sale. It seems that the price that circulated was 10,000 euros, " said the source.
