Tymoshenko said that Ukraine was officially recognized as the poorest country in the continent

“Incomes below the average level have 58.7% of the population of Ukraine, 30.5% - incomes below the real subsistence minimum. We are officially the poorest country in the region and continent, ”she said.

Tymoshenko also added that a million Ukrainians have already left the country over the past year, according to official data of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, and another three million are ready to leave Ukraine in the near future.

Earlier, World Bank Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, Satu Kahkonen, said that in five years the number of Ukrainians living below the poverty line has increased significantly.
