Mohammed Dahlan, adviser to Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, was "severely beaten" and transferred to intensive care after refusing to take responsibility for the plot to assassinate Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Yemeni newspaper Yeni Shafak reported.

The sources close to Ibn Zayed and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to the newspaper, that Dahlan was invited to a yacht party in Dubai on the sidelines of the visit of Ben Salman to the UAE last week, where he met them on a private yacht, and asked him to accept the announcement of being the mastermind and planned and ordered to kill Khashoggi in order to remove the charge from Mohammed bin Salman and his acquittal.

Dahlan, a dismissed leader of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), completely rejected what he was asked to do. He was later subjected to "a severe beating by an unknown gang" in Dubai, breaking his neck and being held in intensive care in a hospital, Without allowing anyone to visit him.

Sources close to Dahlan had earlier reported a neck fracture following a traffic accident in Dubai, but the comments were deleted hours after they were published.

It is interesting to note that the newspaper Yeni Shafq pointed out that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi met Jared Kouchner, advisor to the American president, and the three were agreed to assign full responsibility to Dahlan.
