The government has decided to designate heavy rain disasters mainly in western Japan as "specific emergency disaster." We will try to preserve the rights and interests of victims by allowing us to extend the deadline by renewing our driver's license. It is the 5th since the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake and it will be the first time in heavy rain disasters. It will be decided by the Cabinet on 17th.

In response to the worst damage caused in Heisei, the government decided that it corresponds to "extremely abnormal and severe emergency disaster" specified by the Special Measures Law. Extension of administrative procedures such as extending the term of the driver's license and reservation of bankruptcy proceedings to disaster-stricken corporations that have become excess debts due to disasters are assumed.

Specific emergency disaster was established by the special measures law with the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake. The Great Hanshin Earthquake, the Niigata Prefecture Chuetsu Earthquake 2004, the 11th East Japan Great Earthquake, the Kumamoto Earthquake were designated.
