"We urge all parties to demonstrate maximum restraint, and the authorities to respect the right to peaceful assembly ... All parties must renounce the use of violence," the statement says on the website of the administration.
Earlier it was reported that the international contact group on the crisis in Venezuela "strongly opposes the use of force" in a Latin American country and calls for Caracas for restraint.
