The State Department announced the possibility of a breakthrough in the issue of the constitutional committee of Syria

"We believe that there is a chance for a breakthrough in the (formation) of the constitutional committee, which should meet in early January," RIA Novosti quotes Jeffrey.

Earlier it was reported that the meeting of Russia, Iran and Turkey on Syria will be held in Geneva on December 18.

In the center of discussion is a political settlement in Syria with an emphasis on the formation of a constitutional council.
