The Russian delegation discussed with Assad the launch of the work of the Constitutional Committee

"Particular attention was paid to the task of the early formation and launch of the work of the constitutional committee in accordance with the decisions of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress (UNCND) and UN Security Council resolution 2254," the report says.

As it is specified, the meeting took place on December 12, in which, in particular, the special representative of the Russian president on SAR Alexander Lavrentiev and the deputy minister of foreign affairs of Russia Sergey Vershinin participated.

In late November, Lavrentiev said that in Syria there is a tendency to stabilize the situation.
