Apple's A12Bayonic processor on Apple's latest iPhone may be the fastest smartphone processor tested so far - according to TomsGide, a hardware test site - but Qualcomm's new processor, the Snapdragon 855, quickly slows that performance gap.

The 855 is expected to be used on Samsung Galaxy S10 phones in the United States, which is expected to be released on February 20.

The site says it had the opportunity to put a device running the Snappragone 855 processor into a series of performance tests. While the Apple A12 processor kept the upper hand above the new Qualcomm processor, the gap between them was the lowest for a long time.

The new Qualcomm processor continues its advantage over the A12 processor when it comes to graphics, which translates into significant advantages over the previous Qualcomm processor 845, which is used by most top class phones of 2018.

The site uses a reference device provided by Qualcomm works with the Snappragone 855 processor. It has a 2.99-inch screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels and includes six gigabytes of RAM. The results of the tests were then compared with other leading phones Tested last year.

Here are the test results:
Performance test (Jake Punch 4) for multi-nucleus testing (highest number is best):
The reference device Snappragone 855 gained 11196 points
The Apple iPhone XS (ie 12 Bayonik) gained 11420 points
Huawei Mait 20 Pro (Kerin 980) received 9973 points
The Plus 6T (Snabdragon 845) received 8972 points
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Snadragoon 845) received 8,876 points
Google Pixels 3XL (Snabdragon 845) got 7684 points

Test video editing, edit clips in Adobe Premiere (least time is better):
Apple iPhone XS (ie 12 Bayonic) completed the process in 39 seconds
Google Pixels 3XL (Snabdragone 845) Complete the process in 2 minutes 42 seconds
Reference device Snappragone 855 Complete the process in three minutes and 29 seconds
Wan Plus 6T (Snappragone 845) completed the operation in three minutes and 45 seconds

Graphic test using 3D MarkSlingshot Xtreme (the highest number is the best):
The reference device Snappragone 855 got 5603 points
Apple iPhone XS (A12 Baiyun) received 3600 points
Huawei Mait 20 Pro (Kerin 980) got 4120 points
Wan Plus 6T (Snabdragon 845) received 4956 points
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Snabdragon 845) received 4566 points
Google Pixels 3XL (Snabdragon 845) got 4396 points

The tests show the obvious superiority of the Apple processor in video editing, but the difference between Apple's processor and Qualcomm's last processor has greatly diminished in the multi-core test, before the Qualcomm processor surpassed a vast gap in 3D graphics.

This is a warning to Apple, working to fix it on the 2019 phone, which is expected to include a new processor, which may enhance the superiority of Apple in the field of smart phone processors.
