Huawei Technology Company annually organizes an international talent competition for outstanding students in the field of information and communication technology through tests of efficiency in theoretical and practical information.

The competition consists of four stages: two in the country of the contestant, the third in the regional level, the final stage at the international level, and is one of the international events based in China.

Students from the University of Nineveh, Hamza al-Hitti and Anas Ibrahim from the Iraqi University were able to win over 13 teams from ten countries and won the first place to participate in the international competition to be held in May 2019. China.

Although the team's preparations were not at the level to compete with teams received from the training and logistics, material and moral that qualify them to win, the victory was an ally of the Iraqi team, which relied on his talent and potential.

Osama Al-Rawi, a member of the winning team, a student at the Faculty of Electronics Engineering at the University of Nineveh, said that their first place was impossible, based on this modest potential.

He believes that reaching the final competition is great, but to get advanced positions in the last round they will need equipped IT labs to help them in the practical aspect, which is the basis of the final stage.

Hamza al-Hiti, a student at Anbar University, said that their upcoming participation in the international competition can not be achieved unless modern equipment and training are provided on the latest technology in the field of networking and communications.

He stressed that most of the countries participating in this competition provide the necessary capabilities of the teams of laboratories, trainers and specialists in the field of information technology.

Dr. Abdul Azim Al-Marsoumi, Professor of Computer Science at Al-Anbar University, had a role in supporting morally gifted students as well as providing them with theoretical and practical information.

Al-Marsoumi confirmed to Al-Jazeera Net that the Iraqi team was in a state of frustration before going to China to participate in the competition, but the support of the teaching staff and their belief in their abilities increased their determination and determination to win.

The educational institutions in Iraq lack the equipment and equipments that provide competitors and participants with the elements of competition, in addition to the absence of the future vision to invest these skills and minds, which became the focus of attention of international companies that seek to attract them through these competitions and others.
