“We consider this regular cynical action of praising in Latvia minions of Nazi criminals as an outrage upon the memory of the millions who fell in the fight against the“ brown plague ”,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry noted that the Latvian authorities continue to pursue a disastrous line on revising the outcome of the Second World War.

On March 14, it became known that the Investigation Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the rehabilitation of Nazism against the historian Vladimir Vyatrovich, head of the Institute of National Remembrance of Ukraine.
