According to him, the point is that Ukraine will have one church - the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
“Poroshenko did everything to discredit the very idea of tomos and autocephaly,” Silantyev added.
Earlier, a court in Kiev suspended the procedure for renaming the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
At the end of 2018, in Ukraine, the law on the renaming of religious organizations, the leading center of which is located in Russia, came into force.
