"The Association Council recognized the need to maintain socio-economic relations between the regions that are currently not under the control of the government and the rest of Ukraine," RIA Novosti reports a statement adopted by the EU.
It is noted that this is necessary, “to protect water supply, energy supply and other utilities ..., reduce environmental risks ..., facilitate the movement of people and goods."
Support was also expressed for the adoption of a law on demining territories.
Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, stated that she had received guarantees from the Ukrainian side that the martial law would be canceled in a number of regions of the country soon.
