The European Commission said that imports of liquefied gas into the EU from the United States grew by 181% in a year.

"Since the adoption of the joint statement of the EU and the USA on July 25, 2018 on the expansion of strategic trade, the growth of imports of liquefied gas to the EU countries from the United States has increased over the year by 181% to 7.9 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year", - leads tass words winterstein.

Earlier it was reported that by 2020 the total volume of exports of liquefied natural gas from the United States will be about 30% of the total of all global LNG supplies.

German Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmeier said that the Nord Stream - 2 project will contribute to a stable gas supply in Europe.
