The CDU / CSU parliamentary group has elected the chairman of the Baden-Württemberg state group, Andreas Jung, as the new parliamentary group vice for budget and finance. The CDU delegates prevailed with 135 votes against the financial expert Olav Gutting (41 votes).

Jung succeeds Ralph Brinkhaus, who had surprisingly prevailed in the election for the chief post of the group against incumbent Volker Kauder - against the recommendation of Chancellor Angela Merkel, CSU leader Horst Seehofer and CSU country group chief Alexander Dobrindt.

The inferior gutting was supported above all by the Merkel-critical part of the economic wing around Christian von Stetten, but also by the financial politicians. There was no change in the ranks of parliamentary managers. They were all re-elected without opposition.

Group leader Brinkhaus had wanted to give preference before the election. The 46 CSU deputies have traditionally not participated in the vote for filling posts that belong to the CDU side in the common group.
