The Office of the Federal Attorney General issued a statement on the incident of video circulating on social networking sites, which stated:
The video on social networking sites shows a person who is holding Asian nationals in a bird cage to encourage the UAE national team to play against the opposing team, the national team of the Republic of India.
The legal proceedings were taken and submitted to the competent prosecution. The order was issued to arrest and bring the video owner as a criminal offense punishable by law in the United Arab Emirates. Moreover, he does not express the values of tolerance which the UAE society is equal to. A picture of the difference between them only under the principle of equal opportunities and merit better effort and excellence in work and conduct.
