Spain is holding its breath as emergency service teams continue to try to rescue a two-year-old boy who is believed to have been stuck in a deep pit in southern Spain.

Rescuers were unable to get into the hole, which is only 25 centimeters in diameter, while the depth is 100 meters.

The firefighters put down a camera installed in an electric man in the middle of the crater, where the rescue team said its equipment had broken down at that depth.

The boy was away from his parents last Sunday when he was playing in a mountainous area near the city of Totalan north of Malaga.

Last July, 12 Thai boys and their coach were rescued about two weeks after being trapped inside a cave, in an ordeal that attracted world attention.
