Sharjah Police have begun investigating the death of a drowning student at a swimming pool in a private school in the Emirate of Sharjah in an accident that is the first of its kind in the emirate. .

The Comprehensive Industrial Police Station received a telephone call from Al-Qasimi Hospital stating that a student had died as a result of drowning. He was transferred to the school by the criminal investigation team and the investigation officer at Al-Shamil Industrial Police Station to find out the causes of the accident.

"The school administration bears full responsibility for the death of his nephew drowning in the school's swimming pool," said Ali Saeed al-Kutbi, the student's uncle (Khalifa al-Kutbi, four years old) who died in a private school swimming pool yesterday.

He explained that Khalifa is the last of his brothers, and that he woke up early yesterday in preparation for going to the swimming pool in the school, because he is one of his favorite sports lessons. "We did not expect to send our son to school to die drowning."

He added that the expensive school fees parents think it is a distinct school and provide services and care for students, especially as they contain surveillance cameras everywhere.

He explained that (Khalifa) was studying at school with one of his brothers, and that they were registered in the school for their care and education and attention to them healthily and educationally, noting that immediately after the incident continued to run the school with his brother Abdullah (the father of the deceased), who went to school quickly to know What happened to his son without knowing his death at first.

"As soon as I heard the news, I left my job in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and went to Sharjah. I was surprised by the presence of the police at the school to investigate. The student's body was transferred to forensics to investigate the cause of death," he said.

He pointed out that «negligence and lack of control of the student in the kindergarten stage led to the incident».

He pointed out that the family is waiting for the investigations to be completed and that the health situation of Khalifa's mother is very difficult. She did not believe that her youngest son went to the swimming pool in the school for education and training.
