This, according to TASS, as a result of consultations with the United States on the INF Treaty was declared by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov.

“We today used consultations to offer the American side a series of specific measures in the field of transparency with regard to the well-known 9M729 rocket, which, in our opinion, would completely remove any suspicions and assumptions of the American side about the non-compliance of this product with the requirements of the treaty,” the diplomat said.

According to him, Russia is ready for this transparency “would only go under the condition of the reciprocal openness of the United States” to allay Russia's concerns.

"This concerns the use of target missiles, the resolution of the problem of drone drone and the situation with the possible use of Mk-41 launchers on land in Europe for launching not only interceptor missiles, but also cruise missiles, and, possibly, ballistic shock weapons," told Ryabkov.

Ryabkov had previously said that a 9M729 demonstration to the United States would be a manifestation of "increased transparency."

On January 15, Russian-American consultations on the INF Treaty were held in Geneva.

In early December 2018, the United States called on Russia to abandon the 9M729 missile or modify it.
