Putin said Russia doesn’t want to participate in the new arms race

He said this in an interview with Serbian publications Politika and Evening News.

“We will be forced to take effective responses. However, Russia, as a responsible and sensible country, is not interested in a new arms race, ”the Kremlin press service quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Putin called for developing the army without joining the militarist race.

In May, the Russian leader admitted that he shared the concerns of the United States about a possible arms race.
