The militia is called "collectivos" and supports the government of the country.

“The idea is that the people of Venezuela receive the necessary knowledge and form a civil-military alliance. Indeed, in the event that we have to defend our country, we will play a very important role. And of course, we will protect it even at the cost of our own lives, ”said one of the participants in the movement.

The history of the movement dates back to the 1960s, when activists spoke out against poverty and sought to make education and medicine accessible.

Now they are learning to handle weapons in order to repulse the enemy if necessary.

In January, Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro announced that 50,000 units of the national militia would be formed in the country.

Later, the head of state announced that militia members would be included in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Venezuela.
