Parliament deputies appealed to the Constitutional Court because of the situation with autocephaly

According to the deputies, the appeal of the President of Ukraine, supported by this decree, is the direct intervention of the state in church affairs.

Also, it is alleged that the constitutional rights of citizens are violated, namely the right to freedom of world view and religion, as it is about creating a single local church in Ukraine.

In early October, it became known that the Kyiv District Administrative Court would consider a lawsuit against President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in connection with his appeal to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew about granting autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

State Duma Deputy Vitaly Milonov in an interview with the FAN appreciated Poroshenko’s idea of ​​creating an autocephalous local church.
