Badr al-Din al-Wahaibi - Tunisia

With a close look, Father Moez Boukhreis, head of the "Nass El Leil" Association, is preparing the preparations for a food aid convoy in Tunis. The apartment and its stairwell every Friday are packed with young Tunisian volunteers who came carrying food utensils and compassionate hearts.

This charity has been active since 2006, and every Friday it provides hot and complementary meals to homeless people in the streets of Tunis.

The association's activities also extend to the provision of clothing and blankets, especially in the harsh winter of this category, which is hidden by the sind, which hides strange and sometimes sad tales of sleeping on asphalt in the streets.

The steady increase in the number of volunteers made the NASS AL-LIL Association develop its activities to include the cleaning of the reception halls in emergency medicine departments in the hospitals of the capital in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

Donations in kind
The head of the association, Maez Boukhreis, says all meals, clothes and blankets are provided without donations from Tunisians and activists.

The association does not accept money from donors, in order to prevent suspicions of misconduct. In some exceptional cases and before the insistence of some of them, the donor is asked to determine the things and quantities he wants to buy and then send him pictures and videos to prove the arrival of his donation to those in need.

Al Jazirah Net noted that young men and women carrying food and bottles of water spontaneously joined the process of filling and filling the dishes, pushing them to the intimate atmosphere and being welcomed by the team members.

Ahmed al-Ghafari, an activist, says the association's headquarters is also a donation from a resident of the capital as a contribution to its support and continuity.

In line with the principle of equality, the list of foods and needs is posted on the Facebook page every week, and donors must stick to it to avoid favoring some displaced people.

Some people communicate automatically with the president of the association by telephone to find out what to prepare for the week or to inform them of their intention to donate other things.

Bukhreis says that this system of coordination has been positive and positive for everyone, and makes it easier for the society's activists to collect and distribute food to the dishes.

Harmonious playing
It is interesting to note that despite the relative narrowness of the space in the headquarters of the Assembly, the complexity of things go in a beautiful flow, everyone knows the task entrusted to the Covenant.

For Tunisian families, women and young women have the task of filling and beautifying their food, and their voices sometimes rise up with nice stirrings to motivate young people to keep pace with their style.

A beautiful race to the tune of spoons and utensils heard by hungry bellies for homeless people in the alleys and streets of the capital has not died for years.

Inspiring his watch and honoring the team, Boukhreis puts the finishing touches before completing the first stage of the work from the pavement of Wolf to the dishes. He also misses the aesthetic of the meal that will reflect the beauty of the spirits it has prepared.

Before the launch of the convoy of good do not miss to remind members of the team instructions for their safety vary according to the areas to be visited, the girls know where they can move and neighborhoods that do not have to get out of cars for young people to do the task alone.

Boukhreis does not forget to remind them of how to deal with the displaced, no pictures, no money or promises, in some exceptional cases that they memorize, they must review immediately.

Food and friendship
The "Night People" goes on in an unmarked motorcade, maintaining moderate speed and not being overtaken by instructions that are not devoid of any driver. Food cars followed by water-filled breakfasts to clothes and blankets.

"Uncle Hassouna" was the first station the team knew for years. Everyone raced to ask about his condition. After serving his share of food, the young women took off his socks, washed his legs and put on clean socks.

I do not mind all the members of the team from a musical link that makes "Uncle Hassouna" swaying a singer and her coffin forgetting moments of unity and cold, which retreats in front of the family warmth that was added by the visit of those calling them children.

The stations and the humanitarian situations that have been wailing under the rubble of forgetfulness, including the loss of the family, are also denied by the children, and the sidewalks and streets have been overtaken by it, in addition to the extreme poverty of entire families who have been unable to rent a room.

Despite the terrible pressure of some cases on the psyche of the "night people," sometimes the glint of tears in the eyes of the horrors of what they see and hear from pain and distress are hinting at.

"We should not be affected by what we hear," said Salim, a member of the association. "Frustration is a contagious feeling that can easily be moved from one homeless person to another and then things get complicated and apart from the main purpose of the tour.

The waiting rooms in the capital's emergency departments also have a share of cleaning and lifting garbage, as everyone, despite overcrowding, accelerates into a new spirit and a clean soul.

Risks and attacks
The "Night of the Night" tours are not free of verbal threats and assaults. Walking around some of the capital's streets is sometimes risky.

Experience has given them experience in dealing with some cases that refuse to receive aid and sometimes insult and insult the team. These are cases that are under the influence of alcohol and can only be predicted when approaching them.

At times, some of the predators who roam the streets of the capital try to steal some things or verbal abuse, but the organization and cohesion of the team made them avoid the worst in many cases.

The members of "NASS AL LIL" are an example of the bright side of the young people of Tunisia. They are joined by the love of good and a high sense of belonging to this social fabric in its various categories without exclusion of any party. They are birds of mercy landing at night on those who are absent from the books, pushing them to wait for a better tomorrow.
