His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan discussed the brotherly relations between the two countries, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

This came during the official talks held by His Highness and the Jordanian King yesterday at the Husseiniya Palace in Amman, Jordan, in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.

Mohammed bin Zayed:

"The UAE, led by Khalifa, is keen to strengthen its relations with Jordan to achieve their aspirations and contribute to the promotion of joint Arab action, given the challenges facing the region."

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the prospects and ways of cooperation and joint work between the two countries in the economic, developmental and political aspects, and ways to develop them.

As well as the events and developments in the regional and international arenas, and exchanged views on a number of issues of interest to both countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed to His Majesty Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his wishes to the brotherly Jordanian people for their progress and prosperity.

The UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, is keen to consolidate and develop its fraternal relations with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to achieve their aspirations and contribute to the promotion of joint Arab action, especially in light of the challenges and threats facing the region. Prince Saud pointed out that the crises and challenges in the Arab region necessitate continued consultation and coordination between the brothers in order to consolidate the pillars of Arab security and preserve the stability of the region and its peoples. At the end of their talks, the two sides affirmed their keenness to develop fraternal relations between the two countries and elevate them to wider horizons of cooperation and joint action.

They also stressed the importance of activating the Arab collective role in facing challenges and crises, and enhancing the security and stability of the region and its peoples, as well as consolidating the concepts of peace, tolerance, civilizational dialogue and co-existence among the various peoples and countries of the world.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan left Amman yesterday after a visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

His departure at Queen Alia Airport in Amman was a farewell to King Abdullah II.
