He also briefed the Minister on the projects of dams in the country and its types, and the projects of future dams that the Ministry of Energy and Industry is working on, in cooperation and coordination with HH the President's initiatives committee. He also briefed on the contribution of dam projects in the storage of groundwater since 2010, To view the public contribution to all the dam projects that the State has hosted, which has reached 105 dams since 1982, under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Industry at a total cost of approximately AED 1.6 billion.

He also identified the stages of completion of the hydrological study of water basins in valleys and the initiative of the Emirates Energy Observatory, which includes the use of an integrated policy analysis framework to simulate various policy initiatives that support the objectives of the Energy Strategy 2050.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during his visit to the Gil Kulba dam, reviewed the strategic projects implemented by the Federal Electricity and Water Authority as part of the energy strategy adopted by the Council of Ministers and supervised by the Ministry of Energy and Industry. He also reviewed the project of constructing a 150 million gallon reverse osmosis desalination plant in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain with the independent product system, which is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2021, a joint venture between the Federal Electricity and Water Authority, Mubadala and Aqua Power .

His Highness outlined the features of the Strategic Plan for Water Security (2019-2036), which aims to expand the country's natural water resources and improve the water scarcity index by 2036, including the establishment of water reservoirs, pumping stations and transmission and distribution lines to link the areas of the State under the supervision of the Authority And the Abu Dhabi Power Company, at a total cost of AED 2.4 billion over two years.

His Highness the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai attended a presentation on one of the state's water security strategy projects, which aims to provide at least 75 billion dirhams compared to the current work method. The ministry expects the various bodies in the country to achieve savings in the cost of water desalination by nine billion dirhams when switching to the use of reverse osmosis techniques to purify water instead of the techniques of thermal desalination, which depend on burning gas.
