During this new legislature, both the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies will play a fundamental role in the implementation of President Lopez Obrador's policy . Because this new Congress will have the capacity to open the way to the transformation of Mexico that tries to realize the future head of the State.

Indeed, his party, Morena, has with his allies an absolute majority in both houses. Hence the fear of the three great traditional parties, after their crushing electoral defeat, that Morena becomes a hegemonic party. This denies its leaders who assure that they will privilege dialogue and parliamentary agreements.

What is certain is that during the next three months, Morena will want to legislate at full steam. His goal: to adopt a battery of laws allowing Lopez Obrador to apply his program of government as of December 1st.

Parliamentarians on the diet

In the immediate future, the majority party will impose austerity measures both in the Senate and in the Chamber of Deputies. Measures that will imply the elimination of the privileges of parliamentarians and a drastic reduction of their salaries, considered much too high.
