Two men aged 35 and 38, living north of Angers, were arrested at their home on Monday, 3 December. They are suspected of having burglarized eleven homes between August 2017 and November 2018 throughout the department. The investigations are continuing.

It has been several months since the gendarmes attempted to resolve an investigation into serial robberies. It resulted in the arrest of two men, Monday, December 3, suspected of being the authors of these burglaries.

Eleven reported burglaries

The first facts date back to August 2017. They spread out until November 2018. Homes of the elderly were robbed. Each time, jewels were stolen. Officials took advantage of the absence of occupants to enter their homes. Eleven similar events have been recorded throughout Maine-et-Loire.

Two men indicted

A commission inquiry was opened. It was conducted by the Beaufort-en-Anjou brigade and the burglary group of the Angers gendarmerie company.

Their investigations led them to two men, aged 35 and 38, living north of Angers. Both are already well known to the police for similar facts.

On Tuesday, December 4, they were indicted for break and enter and held in custody. The investigations are continuing.
