“We will not get involved in a new arms race. The state armaments program, which has been implemented in recent years, has ensured the modernization of our armed forces, of all types and kinds. We have new types of weapons that our western partners know about, ”the minister said.

Lavrov stressed that Moscow had never refused consultations and negotiations aimed at strengthening strategic stability in the new conditions.

“The President said that all these proposals remain on the table, but we will not bother our Western partners on this topic anymore. They know about these proposals. When you mature, you are welcome, ”he said.

Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow would not allow itself to be drawn into an arms race.
