“From the Russian side it was emphasized that Washington’s interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, the threat to its leadership is a gross violation of international law,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Lavrov noted that “only the Venezuelan people have the right to determine their fate, for which a dialogue of all the political forces of the country is in demand.”
During the conversation, the situation in Syria was also discussed, in particular, the situation in the “Er-Rukban” and “Al-Haul” camps. Lavrov spoke in favor of the speediest return of refugees to their places of permanent residence.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is being worked out.
