In his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has passed a law on the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority.

The law stipulates that the body shall have an independent legal personality and shall have full legal capacity to act and to follow the Department of Community Development.

The Commission aims to provide social support to the beneficiaries and has to prepare the strategy and the general policy of the Commission and propose the necessary controls and standards for the provision of social support by the government to the beneficiaries and submit them to the Department for approval by the Executive Council. To request data and information from them, and to contribute with the concerned parties in the development of programs to support the beneficiaries and enable them to access to financial independence and independence.

The Authority is also competent to prepare a record containing data for social support programs and to disseminate the culture of financial management among the beneficiaries to enhance their financial awareness, in coordination with the concerned authorities and study all forms of social support and their financial and social effects.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, adopted the Abu Dhabi Program for Development Duress (Tomorrow 21) last September. The program is based on four main themes: Enhance lifestyle.
