Questioned for the first time this Tuesday, January 15 by the Assize Court, the alleged perpetrator of the attack on the Jewish Museum in Brussels Mehdi Nemmouche refuses to speak. He denounces a prosecution only against him.

Speaking to Mehdi Nemmouche, the president of the Assises asks the question that is on everyone's lips: " So far, you have exercised your right to silence. What is your state of mind ? Are we going or not? "
" At first, I would not want to speak, " responds then the interested. And with a fast debit, it explains: all the people who could bring another tone of voice vis-a-vis the accusation were expurgated of the file. " There were 150 witnesses on my list, I can not defend myself ," says Mehdi Nemmouche. " You do not want to answer my question? "Insists the president. " No, " he replies before sitting down again.
Nemmouche, accused mutique, thus leaves the field free to his defense. His three lawyers have at the beginning of the hearing exposed their defense act, their strategy. It rests only on one axis: the conspiracy theory. " The killing of the Jewish Museum," says Sébastien Courtoy, " was not an attack but a targeted execution of Mossad agents. " Nemmouche is innocent. It's scientific, "he adds.
On the side of the civil parties, neither Nemmouche's silence nor the outrages of the civil parties seem to surprise him. " We expected it, " sighs the lawyers of the victims.
