The Cabinet approved yesterday a decision to amend some of the provisions of the resolution on the recruitment of foreign workers to their families in the country.

The decision comes within the framework of enhancing the family stability of foreign workers in the country, raising the level of productivity in the national economy, enhancing community cohesion, enhancing the UAE's approach to openness, attracting high skilled workers in productivity and maintaining balanced national priorities and achieving an economy. The decree provided for the replacement of the former profession, and the adoption of the income requirement instead of bringing family members to foreign workers, in line with international developments and developments, and in accordance with best practices.

The Council of Ministers affirmed that the human being in the UAE is the most influential element in the development equation, and that the interest in providing a stimulating and positive environment for him to carry out his duties and functions in the best possible manner in an atmosphere that ensures his comfort and happiness, A harmonious and happy society is reflected positively on the development process, which is one of the most important requirements that the government places at the top of its priorities. The decision also called on the concerned authorities in the country to work on a study to stimulate and provide a number of facilities in the basic services for foreign residents, including aspects of education and health and encourage the use of family members residing in the state, as an alternative to recruiting new workers from abroad according to policies and controls.

For his part, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Nasser bin Thani Al-Hamli, stressed that the decision of the Council enhances the family and social ties of the private sector employees, and its positive effects on the labor market are reflected by increasing productivity and supporting the national economy.
