A Tunisian organization on Tuesday called on the authorities to restore scores of Tunisian children forcibly in conflict zones abroad, including areas controlled by the Islamic state.

"Save the Tunisians stranded abroad" at a press conference today in Tunis on the forced migration of innocent children to the state organization that more than 100 Tunisian children are under the control of the Kurds in Syria.

"We have received statistics from Human Rights Watch, the number of Tunisian children under the control of the Kurds in Syria, 107 children and 44 women," said Mona Jendoubi, the secretary-general of the association.

Mona also pointed out that the files received by the association are 93 files for women and 23 files for children, the owners are between Syria and Libya. Among the children were newborns and age groups up to the age of six.

She pointed out that most of the Tunisians stranded in Syria in camps are very poor, causing deaths in their ranks.

The human rights activist appealed to the authorities and civil society organizations to bring back innocent children stranded in conflict zones.

With the outbreak of armed conflicts in Syria and Libya years ago, Tunisians, sometimes accompanied by their families, traveled to fight. According to official statistics reported by the government earlier this year, about three thousand Tunisian fighters have traveled to areas of conflict abroad, mostly in Syria.

Attempts to restore Tunisian children often run into obstacles linked to the absence of regular state negotiators on the other side.
