This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a letter sent by US President Donald Trump to members of Congress.

"I sent to the federal register for publication the attached notice, which declares that the special measures in the country, mentioned in government order N13818 of December 20, 2017, should be continued for a term further than December 20, 2018," the agency quotes the letter.

It is noted that in this case it is said about the presidential decree of the USA a year ago, according to which the USA imposes sanctions in the framework of the Magnitsky global act on a number of persons, including Artem Chaika and Gulnara Karimova.

Earlier, former US Ambassador to Ukraine, Director of the Eurasian Center of the Atlantic Council, John Herbst called the goal of sanctions against Russia.
