"According to preliminary information from the investigation, the work of the flaw detector was provided by lithium batteries. Presumably one of the batteries was depressurized and, due to interaction with oxygen, ruptured, after which the flaw detector elements were ejected, with which workers were injured, "the website of the agency said.
It is noted that as a result of the explosion, two workers of the repair and mechanical shop of the compressor station received severe injuries.
Two more people received injuries of medium severity, and three victims were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of the UK explosion under the article "negligence". Investigators continue to work to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
