This is stated in a message on the Council of Europe website following consultations with Serbia in Brussels.

“The Association Council again called upon Serbia to gradually harmonize its policy towards third countries and its positions in international organizations with the policies and positions adopted by the union and its member states in the period before accession,” the statement says.

The union noted that Serbia needs to “reverse” the current trend towards a distance from the EU’s foreign policy.

The European Union also noted that it expects Serbia to continue to engage constructively in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Earlier, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling on Serbia to follow Western foreign policy towards Russia.

The unrecognized state of Kosovo has recently implemented a series of provocative steps against Serbia, in particular, it decided to create its own army and imposed duties in the amount of 100% on Serbian goods.

Serbian President Alexander Vucic stated in this connection that the United States, Great Britain and Germany are behind the formation of the army of Kosovo, and the purpose of the duties is the final expulsion of the Serb people from Kosovo and Metohija.
