"We ... with regret and concern take note of the decision of the United States not to extend concessions on oil transactions with Iran," the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The statement says that the lifting of sanctions is an integral part of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan on the Iranian nuclear program (FAPA) and aims to have a positive impact on trade and economic relations with Iran and the life of the Iranian people.

"We deeply regret the resumption of sanctions by the United States after they leave the FACU," the report said.

Also, the EU called on other countries, including Russia and China, to make every effort to continue the legitimate trade with Iran, provided for by the FIDD.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump extended the embargo on oil supplies from Iran.
