“In March, you will receive joint NATO-Georgia exercises with the participation of 17 allied countries,” Stoltenberg quoted RIA Novosti as saying.

He said that the purpose of joint training is to increase the interoperability of forces, and, according to the NATO Secretary General, the exercises send a signal to strengthen cooperation between Georgia and the alliance.

He also said that he himself plans to visit Georgia in March.

“I’m going to visit Georgia in March, and I’m really looking forward to it, because several times I was already there and I saw how hospitable this country is,” added Stoltenberg.

In November 2018, it was reported that five ships of the second permanent mine-mine group of NATO (SNMCMG2) led by the German Navy ship Rhein entered the port of Batumi.
