US President Donald Trump has resigned ahead of the resignation of Washington's representative to the United Nations, Neki Healy, in a move seen as a surprise in Washington, the news site quoted news sources as saying. Trump confirmed that Healy would leave her post at the end of this year.

The US president wrote in a tweet on Twitter that a huge announcement with my friend Healy will be revealed at 11:30 am local time in Washington.

Earlier, US media reported that Hely, who has a cabinet rank, submitted her resignation to President Trump, but did not confirm the news when asked about her during her visit to the White House.

While White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said Trump Healy was due to meet at the Oval Office at 10:30 am local time (1430 GMT).

Nicky Healy is a leading Republican member of the Republican Party, has been held accountable, and was elected governor of South Carolina two times before being nominated by US President Donald Trump for the post of US ambassador to the United Nations.
