Four Bretonnian companies win the Stars & Métiers 2018 Award. They received their trophy on Wednesday at a party organized in Saint-Grégoire.

Each year, the Stars & Métiers Award honors four exceptional companies. Organized by the Banque Populaire Grand Ouest (BPGO) and the Chamber of Crafts and Crafts of the Ille-et-Vilaine, in partnership with the Socama, this prize has valued for over 30 years the artisanal excellence of the territory. "It rewards artisans for their talents to project, develop and innovate," say the organizers.

Talents in the spotlight

The responsible Grand Prix was awarded to François-Xavier Bluteau for the Félix Cafés. This company based in Chavagne is best known thanks to its mobile shop, present on the markets of Rennes and Dinan. It also provides several Michelin-starred restaurants in the Michelin Guide, with the ambition of developing this type of partnership with restaurant owners as well as businesses.

Jean-Marc Gallon wins the Grand Prix innovation . This family business, established since 1929 in Rennes, has developed its know-how around orthopedic shoes and soles, with new technologies and innovative materials.

The Entrepreneur Grand Prize goes to the caterer Jérôme Faligot, in Thorigné-Fouillard. Next year, the entrepreneur will have a new building built in Betton. 1,000 m² which will include a point of sale, three tasting rooms and areas dedicated to production.

Finally, the jury chose to hand over the CMA 35 Special Grand Prize to Patrick Prunault of the Prunault flour mill in Ercé-en-Lamée. In a traditional water mill dating from the late nineteenth century, he continues to work as a miller with about fifteen homemade recipes, all organic, ready to use in the form of sachets ready for use.
