A hundred objects were found in the home of a forty-year-old, suspected of numerous thefts in cars. The gendarmes of Betton, near Rennes, are looking for their owners.

On October 5, a 40-year-old man reports to the Betton Brigade near Rennes. He is summoned in a car theft case.

During the audition, the gendarme facing him is intrigued by a detail: the forty-year-old came with a sports bag, which looks like two drops of water to that of a motorist who was the victim of a theft in his car, on a carpool area.

One hundred objects discovered in search

When asked about this fact, the forty-year-old recognizes that he is the author of the theft. At his home, gendarmes discover more than a hundred items: clothes, suitcases, toiletry kits, board games, GPS devices, digital tablet, tools, construction equipment, umbrellas, sunglasses, phone chargers ...

The man admits that he stole these objects in vehicles parked on carpool or parking areas. Without breaking and entering: the doors and the chests were not locked ...

"He indicated having acted, since May 2018, in the communes of Cesson-Sévigné, Chevaigné, Liffré, Saint-Aubin-d'Aubigné and Vitré" , indicates the gendarmerie.

The gendarmes of the brigade of Betton, in charge of the investigation, ask the owners having been victims of this type of theft in these communes to contact them to identify the discovered objects. Such. 02 99 55 85 38 or by email: bta.betton@gendarmerie.interieur.gouv.fr
