“The connection is now completely absent, for almost a week I did not hear the voice of my daughter. Only one thought comes to my mind: this is another attempt by the American side to exert pressure on Maria, ”he said.
Butin added that the administration of the prison in which his daughter is located explains the lack of communication due to technical problems, but he “does not believe this”.
He also said that Butina is still in prison.
On December 13, Butina said in a US court that her confession of guilt on one of the charges and the conclusion of a deal with the investigation were made voluntarily.
Maria Butina was detained in the USA in July 2018 on suspicion of “working for Russia as an agent”.
