Ex-FBI Vice McCabe: Ministry of Justice wanted to push Trump out of office

High officials in the US Department of Justice seriously discussed the possibility of pushing President Donald Trump out of office following the release of former FBI director James Comey in May 2017. Former FBI vice-president Andrew McCabe said this in an interview with the CBS television magazine "60 Minutes," which was previously publicized in part and cited by the New York Times.

McCabe himself had talked to Trump the day after Comey's expulsion and was worried that he, too, would be fired. He was worried that the Russia investigation would then be stopped very quickly and "without leaving a trace overnight".

Accordingly, there were also discussions about whether Trump could be impeached on the basis of the 25th Amendments. This amendment states that presidents can be removed if their state of health no longer allows them to officiate.

"There were meetings at the Department of Justice discussing whether the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet could be brought together to dismiss the President under the 25th Amendment," said Scott Pelley, who had interviewed McCabe.

"The highest levels of law enforcement in the US were trying to figure out what to do with the president," Pelley said, based on what McCabe said. The full interview is to be broadcast on Sunday.

Trump responded to the interview on Twitter and covered McCabe with censure. McCabe pretends to be a "poor little angel," but in truth played a big role in helping Hillary Clinton.

Clinton had run for president against Trump. McCabe's wife got a lot of money from Clinton, Trump claimed. McCabe himself had been a puppet of confidences-chatting James Comey. "McCabe is a shame on the FBI and a shame on our country," Trump wrote.
