Emirates Foundation today announced that it has received a donation of AED 5 million from businesswoman and charity leader Mona Issa Al Gurg. The Foundation intends to harness the funds to fund youth empowerment programs across the country.

- The Foundation allocates donations to support youth skills development programs in science, technology and innovation.

HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Chairman of the Emirates Foundation, said that during the Zayed Year, the State celebrates the noble dignity and values ​​established by the late founding father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Charity, giving and altruism.

He added that the contribution to advancing the process of development and development is not limited to the public and private sectors, but is the responsibility of individuals and institutions, praising in this regard the donation made by Mona Issa Al-Gurg, which is a model to follow others.

The donation is the latest in a series of personal donations from Mona Issa Al Gurg, who is also the Retail Manager of Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group and has been an active member of the Emirates Foundation since 2005. The Foundation intends to use the donation to support its portfolio of programs It includes 6 youth empowerment programs in the UAE focusing on science, technology, innovation, social leadership, financial culture, volunteerism, empowerment and career building.

She also launched the Mona Gurg Scholarship in London Business School to support MBA students and MBA in 2015.
