The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, concluded his visit to the German capital Berlin after signing bilateral agreements between the two countries.

Sheikh Tamim held intensive talks with the German president, the German Chancellor, a number of German ministers and economists and intellectuals.

The emir of the State of Qatar praised the moral position of Germany, which rejects the measures taken by the countries of blockade against Qatar, and announced the investment of 10 billion euros in the German economy.

For her part, German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed regret for the Gulf crisis and stressed that the Gulf region needs a security architecture to resolve conflicts and avoid them in the future.

Speaking at the opening of the Qatar-Germany Business Forum in Berlin, Merkel stressed that Germany is not a party to this conflict, but supports all constructive efforts to resolve the crisis, especially the efforts of the State of Kuwait.

The Gulf Crisis
Merkel said that the current Gulf crisis underscored the importance of a Gulf Cooperation Council capable of working without restrictions. Security and stability are indispensable for economic prosperity.

The German Chancellor welcomed the Qatari investments and stressed the depth of the economic and trade relations between the two countries. "We are very pleased with this," she said. "You will find an efficient partner and credible general conditions."

"Economic relations are not a one-way street," she said, adding that they also find good opportunities for expanding German investment in Qatar's infrastructure and industrial sector. "I think the energy sector in particular has tremendous potential," she said.

The emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, said his country would inject 10 billion euros (11.64 billion dollars) into the German economy over the next five years.

Sheikh Tamim stressed that Qatar is proud of its relations and cooperation with Germany, and at the same time called on German companies to invest more in Qatar.

He stressed that the organization of this forum comes within the framework of Qatar's interest in establishing and strengthening the partnership with Germany in all political, economic, cultural and other fields to "pursue our developmental path" which is to achieve the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, including economic diversification and transformation towards the knowledge economy.
