The election in the Democratic Republic of Congo ended with "a sort of African-style compromise," the foreign minister said on Monday. Jean-Yves Le Drian had expressed his doubts when the announcement of the victory of Felix Tshisekedi.

The minister was questioned by an auditor of the radio France Inter on the double weight, two measures in the position of France which in Venezuela supports the opponent against the officially elected president whereas in the DRC, Paris had finally recognized Felix Tshisekedi despite his doubts about the results of the election.

A " totally different " situation, reacted Jean-Yves Le Drian. " The election ended with a kind of African-style compromise. I do not see why it would be challenged today . "

For Bienvenu Matumo, activist of the citizen movement Lucha, these words of the French minister are " contemptuous ".

One can not pretend to defend a democratic principle in one country and not defend it in another. (...) If France is convinced that the results that were published did not conform to the truth of the ballot box, it should not be cowardly, it should continue to demand the truth of the ballot box and support this principle justice and truth.
