Young artist Mai El Ghaiti participated in a campaign to clean up the Nile River from garbage and waste as part of the efforts to clean the river in Cairo.

During the participation of the Egyptian artist in the campaign was unable to move from the intensity of the Nile silt, so one of the participants rescued and assisted.

Hundreds of youths carried plastic bags and boarded boats to collect waste on the surface of the country's main lifeline and water source.

The Environment Ministry said in a statement that between 3 and 4 tons of waste was removed from the Nile on Saturday.

Young people gathered plastic bags, bottles and old clothes from the river to be sorted and divided into recyclable materials and other non-recyclable materials.

It should be noted that the artist Mei Ghaiti, the sister of the artist Maiar al-Ghaiti and his son Mohammed al-Ghaiti, blew up a surprise at the opening ceremony of the Cairo Film Festival in its late 40 last year, the Egyptian Opera House, which performed surgery to remove a tumor in the breast.
