The Syrian regime held protest vigils and sit-ins in various parts of Syria on Tuesday, denouncing the American declaration of "the sovereignty of the Israeli occupation on the occupied Syrian Golan Heights." The demonstrators emphasized the identity of the "Golan" and its return to Syria.
The demonstrations included several areas in Homs, Suwayda, Daraa, Hasaka, Qamishli, Hama, Quneitra, Aleppo and Latakia. Syrian state television broadcast live scenes showing popular, media and human rights rallies in Damascus. The demonstrators held placards reading slogans such as "The Golan is Syrian land" and " "He said.
